Welcome to tea.haus, an evening of free tea and open space hosted by The Tea Stand and telos.haus.
Enjoy a late-night teahouse with floor seating, soft lighting, ambient music, and free self-serve tea.
Quiet hours are from 7-9pm; afterwards conversation is welcome. No phones or laptops allowed! We suggest bringing a journal, book, or something to focus on during your visit.
Once you arrive, you’ll have the chance to put your name down for a traditional shared tea experience called gongfu cha. Gongfu cha sessions are at 8pm and 10pm.
A note on cost & accessibility:
Hosting tea.haus requires extensive time & resources. With this in mind, we invite you to contribute whatever amount feels right (suggested $15). No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Your contribution helps us keep this event, and our respective projects, running.
//about the host
The Tea Stand is a community initiative and creative endeavor which serves free tea for all: from strangers in public parks to folks at food distributions.
Sharing tea with our neighbors is how we create opportunities for stillness and conversation in a world that could use a lot more of both. We cultivate spaces which are free from distraction, commodification, and judgement, and are thus accessible and welcoming to all.
At The Tea Stand, people with different social standings and identities can come together to share space, exchange stories and resources, and create lasting community connections.
