Step into the world of puppetry and bring your imagination to life!
In this hands-on workshop, participants will explore the magical intersection of storytelling, craft, and performance. Through playful experimentation and guided instruction, you will design & build your own unique puppet characters, learn basic manipulation techniques, and collaborate with fellow artists to bring your creations to life.
We’ll cover:
Cardboard puppet construction
Mask making
Overhead projector shadow puppetry
Whether you’re a curious beginner or someone looking to expand your practice, this workshop offers a welcoming space for adults to play, build, and discover.

//About the facilitator
Leah Levine is a multidisciplinary artist and educator specializing in puppetry, sculpture, and performance. A graduate of Wesleyan University and the Glasgow School of Art, Leah has showcased her work in galleries, film, and theater, with performances at Dixon Place, La Mama, and the Jim Henson Carriage House, as well as fabrication contributions for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Netflix productions. As a 2023-2024 Object Movement Resident, she continues to explore conceptualization of self versus other, and the space between reality and imagination.
